Apparatus of Our Past

 
Tyler Mountains very fist fire truck was a Chevy truck.

" Nicked named Ol Smokey" it is shown hear with Lester Casto in front of the fire house as it's being built

 

   
Our second truck was a 1964 International with a 500 GPM pump and booster tank. and was numbered Engine 232, this truck was traded in to Dillis Fire Equipment in 1985 for a 1985 FMC that is in service today

Our third fire truck was a 1974 International with a 750 GPM pump and booster tank, and was given to our community by the Kanawha County Commission, along with 25 other county departments. This Truck was numbered Engine 234 and was retired in 2001

   
Our 4th truck was also a 1964 International truck with a 1000 gallon round tank., In 1980 the tank was replaced with a 1400 gallon square tank that had a dump valve that unload the water into a portable pond that the Pumper could pump water from into the engine . This trucks number was Tanker 233

Our 5th truck was a 1973 dodge van that carried rescue equipment, this truck was sold in 1979 and its replacement was a 1979 Dodge Mini Pumper

Our sixth truck was a 1979 Dodge four wheel drive Emergency One Mini Pumper, that carried 250 Gallons of water and 20 Gallons of AFFF Foam. And in 1981 we was able to purchase a used Hurst Tool from Dunbar Fire Department. This Truck also ran Emergency Medical Calls.

   
And our seventh truck was a 1963 Seagraves 65' Arial Ladder, This Truck was given to Tyler Mt Fire Department from the Kanawha County Commission that was purchased from Charleston Fire Department and was the Truck 6 there. But was Numbered Truck 236 on arrival at Tyler Mt.

   
1982  Chevy Van  Command Vehicle was also used as a rescue vehicle. Original it was a Eagle snack truck and the top was chopped Aprox 9" or more to prevent being top heavy a faster speeds.
